UT Obesity Research Center
The UT Obesity Research Center is dedicated to developing interdisciplinary approaches for the prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity that will decrease obesity-related complications, and help people achieve long-term maintenance of a healthy weight.
In August of 2007, the UT Obesity Research Center was established. Formation of a center had been discussed for some time, with administrators and faculty having considerable involvement in the process. Various units on the campus contributing funding for the center, including:
- The Office of Research (Vice-Chancellor’s Office)
- The College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences
- Tennessee Agricultural Experiment Station
- UT Extension

Callen is QUEST Scholar of the Week: Bonnie Callen, an assistant professor in the College of Nursing, recently received a Fulbright appointment to teach and conduct research at the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing and Midwifery at University College, Cork, Ireland, this fall.
